Marco: The Market Intelligence Suite for Associations
Why Marco?
When it comes to “industry partner” members, most associations basically just sell access to their core members through event sponsorships, advertisements in newsletters, and email blasts. Over time, industry suppliers feel more like ATM machines than partners. Marco: The Market Intelligence Suite for Associations changes the conversation by offering industry suppliers valuable business data in an interactive visual format that they can use to derive powerful insights. Marco helps position associations as knowledge centers and thought leaders while generating new non-dues revenue.

What is it?
Marco serves as a tool that suppliers to any industry or profession can use to understand the current status and recent trends in their sector. Using advanced visualization software, Marco converts public data, association data from an AMS or survey, and private 3rd party data into data-rich visual representations, including colorful maps and charts. Each visualization can be easily manipulated by the end-user and is designed to help suppliers to the industry understand the best markets to invest in and grow their businesses, conduct targeted advertising, identify hot or under-served markets, and make other informed business decisions.
How it Works
Association Research Consulting charges no fee at all to your association, making this a zero-risk proposition. We will work with you to create a suite of 12-15 visualizations that are most meaningful to your supplier (or core) members. We’ll rely on data from your AMS and draw from public data sources at the US Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics and (optionally) private data from a reputable source. The suite will be branded with your association’s logo (helping position you as a thought leader) and it will be made available for sale on your website and online store with a good-faith marketing effort. Priced between $2,000 and $7,500 each, revenue is split 50/50 after the first $20k in sales. Discounts can be offered for members – enhancing the value proposition of membership – and a subscription model can be established to keep repeat buyers coming back for years to come.
